Michael Kors @ New York Fashion Week Spring 2014

Depois de uma espécie de ausência de posts mais elaborados (peço desculpa por isso, mas estes últimos dias têm sido muito atarefados), vamos voltar, mais uma vez, a esta temática. Para quem ainda não está familiarizado com esta rubrica, eu estou a apresentar as tendências de Primavera/Verão deste ano através das colecções de algumas das mais conhecidas casas de moda internacionais. O tempo solarengo voltou (e com ele também uma certa subida das temperaturas), por isso não há melhor altura para vos mostrar estas peças de roupa. Hoje é tempo de vos falar sobre a coleção de Primavera/Verão da Michael Kors.

After a sort of an absence of more elaborate posts (sorry about that but these last couple of days were quite crazy), let’s get into this matter once more. For those of you who haven’t seen this rubric, I’m presenting this year’s Spring/Summer trens through the new collections of some of the major international fashion houses. The sunny weather has returned (even with the help of warmer temperatures), so there’s no better time to show you guys these pieces of clothes. Today it’s time to talk about this year’s Michael Kors Spring/Summer collection.

As I said for the last one I’ve shown you guys, this collection also gives a certain Spring/Summer vibe, which is something that I appreciate. Compared to Custo Barcelona and Elie Saab collections, this wouldn’t be a collection we would associate with these two season, yet it’s more relatable than the one from Marc Jacobs. However, I think this collection is quite suitable for both Spring and Summer. Michael Kors is an American fashion house with clothes lines for both men and women. It was created around the 1980’s by Karl Anderson, Jr. (aka, Michael Kors). His clothes (namely gowns) have been worn by celebrities, such as Rachel McAdams, Jennifer Garner, and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

Como eu referi na última colecção que vos mostrei, também esta transmite uma certa “vibe” de Primavera/Verão, que é algo que eu aprecio. Comparando-a com as colecções da Custo Barcelona e da Elie Saab, eu não associaria a colecção da Michael Kors com estas duas estações, mas de qualquer modo, é muito mais relacionável do que a colecção da Marc Jacobs. Contudo, eu penso que esta colecção até se enquadra bem com a Primavera e o Verão. Michael Kors é uma casa de moda americana com linhas de roupa para homens e mulheres. Ela foi criada na década de 1980 por Karl Anderson Jr. (também conhecido como Michael Kors). As suas roupa (nomeadamente vestidos de gala) têm sido usados por algumas celebridades, como Rachel McAdams, Jennifer Garner e Catherine Zeta-Jones.

Apesar de todas as associações de cores vivas com estas duas estações, a verdade é que podemos concluir que os tons mais escuros irão estar sempre presentes nas colecções de Primavera/Verão, especialmente visto que o preto é uma cor clássica. Para além disto, esta colecção também incorpora outros tons escuros como o azul e o castanho. Apesar de ter algumas peças em tons claros (como o azul, o cinzento e o branco), esta não é a sua tendência mais relevante. Esta é a introdução de peças de pele, tanto em camisolas como em saias. Em relação aos fatos-de-banho e/ou biquínis, pode-se ver que os calções de cintura subida estão em alta, novamente. Eu tenho de admitir que me é difícil escolher um ou dois conjuntos favoritos, porque são todos muito giros. Mas mesmo assim, posso se calhar escolher o 7.º e 9.º conjuntos.

In spite of associations of bright colours with these two seasons, we can conclude that darker tons will always be present in Spring/Summer collections, especially since black is a classic. Apart from it, this collections also incorporates other dark colours as blue and brown. Even though it has some pieces in light colours (such as blue, grey, and white), this is not its most relevant trend. It is the introduction of leather, either in shirts and skirts. As for swimsuits and/or bikinis, we can see that high waisted swim shorts will be a big trend this year. I must say it’s really hard to choose just one or two favourite outfits because they’re all gorgeous. But maybe I can choose the 7th and 9th ones.
