86th Annual Academy Awards Winners + red carpet looks

And here it is, the moment we’ve all been waiting for. Well, at least for those who have a great passion (or obsession, that will work too) for cinematography. I know all ceremonies are important in their own ways but there’s nothing like the Oscars. I don’t know if it just me (because I only saw two of the films nominated – Dallas Buyers Club and Gravity), but this year’s competition was really tight. With some exceptions, I think that for some categories it was totally unknown, until the last moment, who would be the winner. This year, both “Gravity” and “American Hustle” had the most nominations (10 in total), followed closely by “12 Years a Slave” (with 9 nominations). We can say that these three films were the favourites to win. As for the individuals, both Alfonso Cuarón and Spike Jonze had 3 nominations, making them the favourite ones.

Held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles (USA), this year’s ceremony was hosted by Ellen DeGeneres and produced by Neil Meron and Craig Zadan. I must say I had no expectations about her work as host because I never actually saw the 2007 ceremony. Ellen was brilliant and so funny. I think it actually worked out very well. After all this talk, I here to present you guys the 86th Annual Academy Awards winners.

I don’t have a clear opinion on the winners, since I only watched two of the nominated films. As for the more technical awards, I wasn’t expecting nothing more than Gravity winning it because it is a really good film. As for the rest, I couldn’t be more proud of Jared Leto because he made a beautiful and amazing performance in Dallas Buyers Club. It was a well deserved award. Even though I knew DiCaprio wouldn’t win, there was a little bit of hope in the back of my heart. What do you guys have to say about this year’s winners?

There’s nothing like the Academy Award’s red carpet. This has been one of my favourite years, because in general the looks are really good. I like all the dresses I’m showing you guys, of course ones more than others. However, it’s easy to pick my favourite ones. First of all, Lupita Nyong’o was absolutely stunning and gorgeous. She’s so pretty and that dress was just perfect for her. It’s so simples but so perfect at the same time, and its colours is beautiful. Second of all, Emma Watson who was so beautiful too. I love her dress. Another one that’s really perfect. As for the rest, they had all really good choices, so this was a good year. What do you guys think of this year’s red carpet looks?
