“The Jungle Book” é uma nova adaptação da aventura épica de Mowgli, um menino órfão que tem sido criado por uma família de lobos. Mas Mowgli descobre que ele já não é bem-vindo na selva, quando o temível tigre, Shere Khan, que carrega as cicatrizes do Homem, promete eliminar o que ele vê como uma ameaça. Peter Bradshaw (The Guardian) escreveu que este filme é “espectacular, emocionante, engraçado e divertido” e que ele conseguiu recriar o espírito do filme original da Disney. Andrew Barker (Variety) e Chris Nashawaty (Entertainment Weekly) partilham da mesma opinião, ainda que este último crítico acrescente que as duas músicas que foram cantadas são talvez desnecessárias e, que o filme poderá ser um pouco assustador para crianças.
